Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, surgery can be performed the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 years of age.
For patients undergoing IV sedation or general anesthesia for surgery, the doctor will perform a clinical examination and a preoperative consultation that includes a review of your medical history. Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
If you are having IV sedation or general anesthesia, please have nothing to eat or drink eight hours prior to your surgery. You will also need an adult to drive you home.
If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, please request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to your appointment with us. If additional films are necessary, they will be taken in our office.
Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art, full-face cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans that provide highly accurate three-dimensional x-ray images for the diagnosis and treatment planning of oral and maxillofacial surgery. This technology allows us to diagnose, plan, and treat cases involving dental implants, impacted teeth, orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint disorders, and other maxillofacial procedures. These scans generate undistorted, anatomically correct views of the jaws, teeth and facial bones along with cross-sectional and panoramic views. These three-dimensional images enable a level of patient safety and care not possible with conventional x-rays.
With the CBCT technology available in our office, our practice is able to provide the most advanced, innovative, and highest quality patient care.
